JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A man was convicted in connection to the October 2020 shooting death of a woman in Jackson.
Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens announced Otis Singleton was convicted of second-degree murder in connection to the death of 26-year-old Victoria Hollingsworth.
The shooting happened in the 700 block of Monterey Street on October 29, 2020. Police said Hollingsworth was found unresponsive, lying in a pool of blood. She had been shot in the head with an assault-style weapon after a domestic-related argument over a set of keys. Police arrested Singleton.
He is expected to be sentenced on August 14, 2024. He faces up to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
