WINSTON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Six people were killed during a two-vehicle crash in Winston County.

The crash happened just before 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 1 on Highway 14.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a 2013 Kia Rio was traveling east on the highway when it collided with a 2013 Nissan Maxima that was traveling west on the highway.

Troopers said Laqerious R. Brown, the driver of the Nissan, died from his injuries. They said Sara L. Batchelor, the driver of the Kia, and her four passengers, a 16-year-old female, a 6-year-old female, a 3-year-old male, and a 1-year-old female, also died during the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
