RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Reservoir police said a Brandon man was found deceased in the Barnett Reservoir.

Reservoir Police Chief Carlos DiPuma said officers received a call about an unoccupied boat near the rocks around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3.

When officers arrived, they began to search the area. About 300 yards west from the boat, DiPuma said the man’s body was found floating in the water. He was identified as 62-year-old Steve Cermak, of Brandon.

According to the police chief, Cermak experienced a medical emergency and fell into the water.
