HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WHLT) – Hattiesburg police arrested a man in connection to a fatal shooting.

The shooing occurred in the 600 block of Eastside Avenue around 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, August 4.

When officers arrived at the location, police said they discovered 31-year-old Markaz Moye, of Hattiesburg, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Moye was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. 

Hattiesburg police arrested Garry Rogers, 36, of Hattiesburg, and charged him with one count of first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence in connection to the shooting. He was booked into the Forrest County Jail.
