MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people are dead and one person is in critical condition following a triple shooting Sunday morning in Hernando, Mississippi.

At approximately 8:02 a.m., Hernando Police officers responded to a 911 call in regard to an individual being woken up by multiple gunshots on Mason Drive.

Upon arrival, officers found three people with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

One female victim was taken by helicopter to Regional One Hospital in extremely critical condition. The additional two victims, a man and a woman, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Though this is an ongoing investigation, officers say they are “confident” that there is no threat to the community or citizens of Hernando.
