ROLLING FORK, Miss. (WJTV) – Some big names are helping out families in Rolling Fork, who were affected by a deadly tornado in March 2023.

Boss Lady Economic Planning, the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi and former NFL player Archie Manning got together to help tornado victims become homeowners.

Pam Chatman, with Boss Lady, said they have donated thousands of dollars for school supplies and school clothes. They also brought in several 18-wheelers filled with necessities valued at $100,000 for those in the area.

Five families, who were affected by the tornado, are now homeowners.

“Now, we’re sitting today with 90 households still in temporary housing, but we’re making a giant stride forward in this permanent housing plan,” said Jeremy C. Slinker, federal coordinating officer for FEMA operations in Mississippi.

Families said it was a hard time for them after the damaging storm. But with the help of multiple organizations, they now have a place to call home.
