JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Crews responded to a large fire in Jackson.
The fire happened around 2:30 p.m. near East McDowell Road on Saturday, August 17. Black smoke could be seen across the metro.
Officials with the Jackson Fire Department (JFD) said the fire burned rubber tires at the location and damaged a structure.
The fire was brought under control and contained just after 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. Officials said fire units were still on scene Sunday, August 18 and could be there for a few more days until the fire has been fully extinguished.
No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
