JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Capitol police are investigating after a person was accidentally shot at the Mississippi Trade Mart in Jackson.

The incident occurred on Saturday, August 31. The Original Jackson Gun Show was being held at the Mississippi Trade Mart this weekend.

Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said officers found an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The unidentified victim had non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the shooting was accidental at this time.
