GRENADA COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Two people, including a Madison-Ridgeland Academy (MRA) student, were killed during a two-vehicle crash in Grenada County.

The crash occurred on Highway 7 around 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, September 1.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek, driven by 18-year-old Robert Noah, of Jackson, was traveling south on the highway when it collided with a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer, driven by 35-year-old Peaches McMurry, of Batesville, that was traveling north.

Troopers said Noah, who was a student at MRA, received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger in the Jeep, 74-year-old Lizzie Tucker, of Texas, also died during the crash.

MRA officials released a statement after the death of Noah.

Words fail to adequately express the immense grief that our MRA Family has experienced in the loss of our friend and classmate Robert Noah.

We pray specifically for the Noah family, along with our students – especially the senior class, and our MRA faculty and staff.
