JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A pedestrian was hit and killed on Interstate 55 in Jackson.

The incident occurred on I-55 near the Woodrow Wilson Avenue exit around 4:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6.

Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said Capitol police responded to the scene. The Hinds County coroner identified the victim as 60-year-old Ricky Hart.

Martin did not release any additional information.
