JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police arrested three suspects in connection to an August homicide.
Police said 20-year-old Gennady Cobbins was arrested on September 10, 2024. Police also announced that 20-year-old Demarcus Jones was arrested on August 28, and 20-year-old Alexandria McDonald was arrested on August 26.
Cobbins was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, capital murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle. Jones was charged with capital murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle and is currently being held in Madison County on other charges. McDonald was charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
Detective Tommie Brown said the three suspects were arrested in connection to the shooting that happened in the 5300 block of Interstate 55 North Frontage Road on August 8. Police said the victim, Fredrick Smith, was shot at the location and was pronounced deceased.
