JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – One person was injured in Jones County as Francine moved across Mississippi overnight. The storm has weakened into a tropical depression.
According to the Jones County EOC, there was one known reported storm clean up-related injury. They said one home was damaged in Laurel.
A peak, more than 8,000 customers were without power in Jones County. Most of the outages have been restored. Communications carriers also experienced some outages.
EOC officials said Jones County road crews, city public works departments, city and volunteer firefighters, with assistance from law enforcement for traffic control, responded to multiple downed trees clearing roadways overnight.
