JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Capitol police are investigating after one person was injured after shots were fired into a home and vehicle.

The shooting occurred on Ash Street in Jackson around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 19.

The homeowner told WJTV 12 News that her son was shot in the knee while he was asleep. Capitol police said he was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
