ADAMS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Two people are in custody and two others are wanted after a shooting in Adams County.

The shooting happened on Myrtle Drive on Thursday, September 26.

Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said dispatch received a call about Emanual Jones shooting at Jeremy Stewart at the location. When deputies arrived at the scene, they said Jones had already fled the scene.

Deputies were able to locate Stewart, who had been shot at multiple times. During their investigation, deputies said they discovered that Jones and Stewart had argued about money earlier in the day in front of Jones’ home. After the argument, Stewart returned home.

The sheriff said Jones showed up at Stewart’s home and was accompanied by two other people. They got into a fight with Stewart. Patten said Jones fired multiple shots at Stewart, who was not struck, but he did sustain minor injuries when he fled the scene.

Investigators later arrested Jones after he turned himself in at the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with aggravated assault and shooting into a dwelling.

Patten said Stewart was also arrested after it was discovered that he was wanted in Concordia Parish, Louisiana, for burglary of a business.
