JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Capitol police are investigating after a body was discovered in the Fondren neighborhood of Jackson.

Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said the body was recovered near West Street and Hartfield Street on Tuesday, October 2.

“This is an open and active investigation, no further comment will be made at this time,” Martin said.
