PIKE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A motorcyclist was killed during a crash on Interstate 55 in Pike County.

The crash occurred just before 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a 1986 Honda motorcycle was traveling north on I-55 when it left the roadway and collided with a cable barrier.

The motorcyclist, 29-year-old Joseph Lodrigue, of Brookhaven, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
