PEARL, Miss. (WJTV) – An 18-year-old from Pearl has been sentenced after he was convicted of armed robbery and possession of a stolen firearm.
Madison and Rankin Counties’ District Attorney Bubba Bramlett said Dylan Josiah Fletcher was sentenced to 30 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) with 18 years suspended and 12 years to serve on the armed robbery charge, followed by five years of supervised probation.
Fletcher was also sentenced to serve a concurrent sentence of five years in the custody of MDOC for possession of a stolen firearm.
On April 7, 2023, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Sonic on Highway 80 in Pearl. A juvenile victim, who had just attended his school’s prom, reported that two masked individuals approached his vehicle, displayed firearms and demanded all his belongings.
Police said the victim recognized Fletcher by his voice, even though a mask partially concealed his face.
While out on bond for the April incident, Fletcher was arrested again in September 2023 for possessing a stolen firearm. The firearm had been reported stolen during an auto burglary in Rankin County.
