RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A 17-year-old was killed during a crash in a Rankin County neighborhood.

The crash occurred on Applewood Lane in the Robinhood neighborhood around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, November 1.

Deputies said first responders arrived at the scene and found the driver had severe injuries due to being partially ejected. The driver, who was identified as Kaylib Knight, of Brandon, was extracted from the vehicle and died from his injuries.

Authorities said based upon the preliminary investigation, Knight does not appear to have been wearing a seatbelt.
