Man charged with shooting five people during party in Laurel

LAUREL, Miss. (WHLT) – Laurel police arrested a 34-year-old man after he allegedly shot five people during a party.

Laurel Police Chief Tommy Cox said the shooting occurred at the Cameron Center on N. 10th Avenue shortly after midnight on Sunday, November 10.

Officers said Daniel Gomez shot five people after he was denied entry to a party at the center. He has been charged with five counts of aggravated assault and DUI.

According to Cox, the five victims had non-life threatening injuries.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has also placed a hold on Gomez.
