RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – One person was killed during a crash in Rankin County, deputies said.

The two-vehicle crash occurred in the area of Florence-Byram Road and Long Drive just before 6:30 p.m. on Friday, November 15.

When firefighters arrived at the location, officials said they found two drivers entrapped in their vehicles. After being freed, one of the drivers died. He was identified as Dennis Darrell Jackson, of Florence.

The other driver was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in critical condition.

The crash is being investigated by the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department Accident Reconstruction Unit.
