JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A woman died after being hit by a vehicle in Jackson, police said.

The incident occurred in the 900 block of West Ridge Drive around 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18.

Detective Tommie Brown said the woman was allegedly sitting in the middle of the street and had been struck by a vehicle. The driver was still on the scene when officers arrived.

Brown said the woman was transported to a local hospital where she later died. The woman has not been identified.
