One charged with trafficking 1,100 pounds of marijuana in Mississippi

TISHOMINGO COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – An Oklahoma resident was arrested in Mississippi after authorities said they found more than 1,100 pounds of marijuana.

According to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), CTED Criminal Interdiction Officers stopped a truck towing an enclosed trailer on Highway 72 in Tishomingo County on November 14.

DPS officials said a roadside investigation led to probable cause for a search, revealing narcotics, a handgun, and body armor.

The unidentified driver, an Oklahoma resident, was arrested and charged with possession of seven grams of cocaine and felony trafficking of 1,100 pounds of marijuana.
