GULFPORT, Miss. (WJTV) – A Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) employee has been charged with one count of embezzlement.

The Sun Herald reported that Cody J. Ware, 36, of Gulfport, took $22,000 worth of wire from MDOT. He was arrested at his home on Wednesday, December 11.

According to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the MDOT office on Highway 49 in Saucier on November 27. They were informed that Ware allegedly took the wire.

Ware received a $15,000 bond. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
