Hattiesburg police arrest 4 in death of Laurel man

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WHLT) – Hattiesburg police arrested four suspects in connection to the death of a Laurel man.

Police said they responded to the 1800 block of Country Club Road around 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 15. They discovered an unresponsive man, who was identified as Jacquez Morris, 21. He died at the scene.

Hattiesburg police conducted an investigation and arrested the following individuals:

  • Eric Fairley, 19, was charged with first degree murder
  • Marquise Tillman, 24, was charged with one count of tampering with evidence and one count with accessory after the fact
  • Lachae Woullard, 21, was charged with one count with accessory after the fact
  • Durkenya Prater, 20, was charged with one count with accessory after the fact

The suspects have been booked into Forrest County Jail. Police said additional arrests and charges are pending as the investigation is ongoing.
