BRANDON, Miss. (WJTV) – Brandon police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide.

The incident occurred in the 300 block of Toulon Street just after 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, December 28.

Brandon Police Chief Joseph French said family members were at the home conducting a welfare check on their daughter when they found obvious signs of foul play inside the residence.

When officers responded to the scene, French said they found the bodies of 40-year-old Brandon Sheffield and 30-year-old Jennifer Sheffield.

“This is an ongoing investigation. I would like to thank the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation for their assistance with the Crime Scene Unit to assist with processing the scene,” said French.
