NATCHEZ, Miss. (WJTV) – A Natchez teen died after a tree fell on a home during the severe storms on Saturday, December 28.

The Natchez Democrat reported the tree fell on a home on Westwood Road. Natchez police and firefighters arrived at the scene around 6:00 p.m.

Natchez Police Chief Cal Green said Tykeria Rodgers died during the incident. Two other family members inside were able to escape the home safely.

Malary White, Chief Communications Officer for the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), confirmed the fatality in Natchez. She said two other people were injured in Natchez. White also reported two people were injured in Franklin County.
