LINCOLN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A woman was killed during a crash on Interstate 55 in Lincoln County.

The Daily Leader reported the crash occurred near mile marker 48 just before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 28.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a 2016 Jeep Renegade was traveling north on I-55 when it left the roadway, collided with a guardrail and became submerged in a drainage ditch.

The driver, 63-year-old Teletha Johnson, of Pearl, received fatal injuries from the crash and died at the scene.

The crash is under investigation by MHP.
