HOLMES COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A man has been charged with murder after a shooting at a Holmes County bar.

Holmes County Sheriff Willie March said Michael Stewart, Jr., 18, shot and killed Jameon Crockwell, 33, at The Hole in the Wall.

According to March, Crockwell was involved in an altercation with another person before Stewart intervened. Crockwall was shot multiple times, and his body was sent to the Mississippi State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

Stewart is expected to appear in court on Thursday, January 2.

The sheriff said The Hole in the Wall will remain open.
