JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) responded to one fatal crash during the 2024-25 New Year Holiday Travel Period.
During the enforcement period, MHP issued a total of 3,038 citations, made 27 arrests for impaired driving, and cited 333 drivers for occupant restraint violations.
MHP also investigated 68 crashes resulting in 21 injuries, with one fatal crash. The fatal crash occurred in Union County.
