WALTHALL COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – A Walthall County deputy has been fired after he was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence.
Walthall County Sheriff Kyle Breland said Ronald Matthew Brown, 45, was fired from the sheriff’s office on Thursday, January 2 after his arrest.
According to Breland, Brown was arrested after crashing his patrol car around 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31. The sheriff said Brown was off-duty at the time of the incident.
According to the Walthall County Jail’s website, Brown was charged with DUI/first offence and driving in more than one lane. His bond was set at $2,500.

Brown began working for the department in October 2024, according to the sheriff.
