JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Officials with the Jackson Public School District (JPS) said heat has been fully restored at Murrah High School.
The high school will resume its regular in-person schedule on Wednesday, January 8.
However, JPS officials said inadequate heat remains a challenge in several classrooms and areas at Shirley Elementary School and Wilkins Elementary School. As a result, both schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 8.
During the closure, JPS maintenance teams and contractors will work to restore heat throughout the buildings so students and staff can return on Thursday, January 9.
