VICKSBURG, Miss. (WJTV) – An old Vicksburg hotel caught fire Thursday morning.

The fire happened at the Scottish Inn on Clay Street just after 7:00 a.m. on January 9.

Assistant Vicksburg Fire Chief Daryl Carson said firefighters established a defensive attack when they arrived at the scene. There were no reports of anyone inside of the building.

According to Carson, the hotel was abandoned and was up for sale.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
