5 arrested, 1 wanted for shooting on I-20 in Vicksburg

VICKSBURG, Miss. (WJTV) – Vicksburg police arrested five suspects and are searching for a sixth after a shooting on Interstate 20.

The Vicksburg Post reported a suspect opened fire on another vehicle while traveling on I-20 near the Halls Ferry exit on Tuesday, January 14. The victim was shot in the arm.

Vicksburg Police Chief Penny Jones said officers are searching for Alvontae White, 18, in connection to the shooting. According to the police chief, White and the victim have an “ongoing dispute.”

Jones said four males and one female were arrested on Tuesday. She said the female suspect is the parent of one of the persons involved in the case.
