LIST: Mississippi agencies announce closures for January 21

JACKOSN, Miss. (WJTV) – Some Mississippi agencies have announced closures on Tuesday, January 21 due to the winter weather.

According to the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS), the following counties offices will be closed:

  • Adams 
  • Amite 
  • Franklin 
  • George 
  • Hancock 
  • Harrison  
  • Jackson  
  • Jefferson
  • Jefferson Davis
  • Jones 
  • Marion 
  • Pearl River 
  • Pike 
  • Stone 
  • Wayne 
  • Wilkinson 

According to the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH), the following County Health Departments will be closed:

  • Coastal and South Mississippi
    • Adams, Amite, Covington, Forrest, Franklin, George, Greene, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Lamar, Lawrence, Lincoln, Marion, Pearl River, Perry, Pike, Stone, Walthall, Wayne and Wilkinson counties will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Central Mississippi
    • Claiborne, Copiah, Simpson, Warren, Hinds, Rankin, Scott, Newton, Lauderdale, Smith, Jasper, and Clarke will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
    • Madison and Attala will be closed Tuesday but are scheduled to open Wednesday. 
    • Leake, Neshoba, and Kemper are scheduled to open Tuesday as of now.

According to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, the following driver service locations will be closed on Tuesday, January 21:

  • Laurel
  • Biloxi
  • Brookhaven
  • Gautier
  • Gulfport (Airport location)
  • Hattiesburg
  • West Hattiesburg
  • Kiln
  • Natchez
  • Picayune
  • Summit
