GLUCKSTADT, Miss. (WJTV) – Gluckstadt police said a man is facing multiple charges after a chase.
According to investigators, officers attempted to stop a vehicle that had been reported stolen on Wednesday, January 29. Police said the driver, who was identified as Tailan Johnson, failed to stop and led them on a brief chase.
The vehicle came to a stop after Madison County deputies spiked the tires, and investigators said Johnson ran away. He was arrested in a wooded area near the Nissan plant. Canton police also assisted at the scene.
Johnson was booked into the Madison County Detention Center. He was charged with felony eluding a police officer, receiving stolen property, possession of paraphernalia, improper tag, careless driving, failure to comply and no insurance.
Johnson’s initial appearance was held on Friday, January 31 in Gluckstadt Municipal Court. His bond was set at $145,000.
