JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – An accident involving a Jackson police officer caused delays on Interstate 55 in Jackson.

According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), the crash occurred on I-55 North past Fortification Street (Exit 96C) on Wednesday, February 19.

Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said the officer lost control of his vehicle while entering Waterworks Curve. He said the officer’s vehicle and a maroon Infinity were involved in the crash.

No injuries were reported.
