SUNFLOWER COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – An inmate, who was serving a life sentence for capital murder, escaped from the Mississippi State Penitentiary (MSP).
According to the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC), Nevin Whetstone escaped from Parchman on Tuesday, March 4.
Whetstone is serving a life sentence for capital murder committed in Lee County and one year for escape from the Sunflower County Jail.

He was sentenced on December 14, 1984.
