RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – There will be a temporary lane closure on Old Brandon Road at the Jackson Airport roundabout in Rankin County.

According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), the closure will take place from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14 to 6:00 a.m. on Monday, March 17.

MDOT officials said the closure will affect the westbound Old Brandon Road approach to the airport roundabout (intersection of Old Brandon Rd., SR 475 and International Dr.). During the work, the right lane of the SR 475 ramp to Old Brandon Road will also temporarily close.

The roundabout improvements include geometric changes to allow for safer and smoother traffic flow, officials said.

Westbound traffic on Old Brandon Road will not have access to the roundabout and must use an alternate route. All other approaches will remain open, allowing access to and from the airport.

During the closure, drivers are encouraged to plan an alternate route on local roads and factor potential delays into airport commutes.
