BRANDON, Miss. (WJTV) – Brandon High School helped make a little girl’s special wish come true on Friday.

Last September, 9-year-old Bree Wood was diagnosed with medulloblastoma. The Brandon High School auditorium erupted in cheers on Friday as Bree walked into the gym for a pep rally.

“It means so much for a Brandon High School to come together. One to support someone going through a not so fair situation. And it just means that much more encouragement and compassion to come from teachers and students all at once,” said Allie Wood, Bree’s sister.

The girl’s wish was for her and her family to visit Hawaii. This was made possible by the generosity and hard work of Brandon High School, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the community collection donations and raising money.

Bree’s family said their support system has been a big help.

“I think the, the biggest part is the having a good community and a faith-based family with friends to help us get through this long journey. I mean, we’re not over yet by any stretch of the means, but, our, you know, our church family’s been really great to us, and the community has been great. And I don’t think we could do it without without their support,” said Taylor Wood, Bree’s father.
