Man arrested in Jackson for double homicide

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police announced a man was arrested and charged in connection to a double homicide.

The incident occurred in the 1100 block of McDowell Circle on Sunday, April 6.

Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade said Jarvis Anderson, 36, got into a fight with a male at a home. The police chief said Anderson killed the male and fled to the home next door. The interim Hinds County coroner identified the male victim as Carey Frost, Jr., 33.

According to Wade, the residents in the home refused to let Anderson hide out, and he proceeded to shoot and kill a female victim, who was identified as Tiffany Johnson.

Anderson was taken into custody and was charged with two counts of murder and being a convicted felony in possession of a firearm. Police said they also recovered two stolen vehicles.

Anderson made his initial appearance in court on Monday, April 7 and was denied bond.
