RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Rankin County deputies announced one man has been charged in connection to a stabbing incident, and two others were detained by Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The stabbing occurred on Jacks Place off of Old Fannin Road near Flowood just before 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 17.
Investigator Tyler Burnell, with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, said they were notified that a stabbing victim had been admitted to a local hospital.
When they arrived at the home on Jacks Place, deputies found a second victim and detained multiple suspects. After the scene was secured, the second victim was treated by medical staff and transported to a local hospital.
Burnell said three individuals were transported to the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office for questioning. They had injuries from an altercation and were treated at the scene by medical personnel.

After arriving at the sheriff’s office, Burnell said investigators learned that the group had been drinking heavily when a fight occurred. They said Jesus Alberto Martinez-Hipolito used a pocketknife to stab one victim, and he then obtained a pipe wrench and struck the second victim in the head. Both victims are in stable condition at a local hospital.
Martinez-Hipolito has been charged with aggravated assault and is being housed in the Rankin County Detention Center. Burnell said the other two individuals were released into the custody of ICE.
