Twins die after drowning incident at Mississippi lake

PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (WJTV) – Authorities are investigating after twins drowned at a Mississippi lake.

Breezy News reported the incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17 at Lake Pushmataha in Neshoba County when the two Philadelphia High School seniors were fishing.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said Camarion Grady died on Sunday, April 20 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson. His brother, Jamarion Grady, died Thursday, April 17.

Officials with the Philadelphia Public School District (PPSD) released a statement about the twins.

The PPSD community has experienced tremendous losses this weekend and our hearts are with all those affected. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from our community members and schools during this difficult time.

Grief counselors and pastors will be available for students and staff on Monday to provide comfort and guidance.

In a show of unity and strength, we invite our school and community members to wear red and black on Wednesday , April 23rd, as we stand together in remembrance and support of Camarion and Jamarion -– Philly Strong.
