JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after one person was shot and killed.

The shooting occurred in the 300 block of Holden Street near Segura Avenue on Wednesday, May 7.

Police said a man was found deceased at the location. He was identified as Zephaniah Thompson, 19.

According to investigators, an assault rifle was located down the street from the victim. There’s no word on a suspect.
