MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman was killed and a child was injured in a crash in Marshall County on Friday.

At approximately 6:22 a.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on Highway 311 in Marshall County.

A 2005 Toyota Scion driven by 20-year-old Ebony C. Seldon was traveling north on Highway 311 when the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

Seldon sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger, a minor, was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol said they are investigating the crash.
