LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – A mother and son died during a house fire in Lamar County.
The fire occurred at a home on Bill Clinton Road in the Oloh community around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 11.
Lamar County Coroner Blake Matherne identified the victims as Glenda Herrin, 71, and Thomas Wayne Herrin, Jr. 53. He said they died from cardio respiratory arrest due to smoke inhalation.
Matherne said Thomas Herrin died at the scene, and Glenda Herrin died on Monday, May 12 at a local hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
