JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a man was shot and killed near an elementary school.

Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said the victim was shot multiple times on Hillside Drive on Monday, May 19. The shooting occurred around 2:00 p.m. near Green Elementary School.

The victim was identified as Jeffery Bolton. Investigators have not released information about a suspect or a possible motive for the shooting.
