MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two boys are accused of shooting a toy gun at demonstrators in Hernando, Mississippi, on Saturday.
On May 17, at 3:33 p.m., Hernando Police arrived in the area of East Commerce Street and McCraken Road.
Police say two male juveniles in a small black passenger car fired an unknown type of firearm at individuals holding up signs on the side of the road.
It was reported that two people said they were struck by something, but did not appear to be bleeding.
Officers made the scene and identified the suspect vehicle, as well as the two juvenile suspects.
According to reports, police contacted the registered owner of the vehicle and the parents of the two suspects.
Police say a “gel blaster” toy gun was located inside the vehicle. The parents involved in this incident have not been identified.
HPD says there is no additional information about the suspects at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
