JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A Jackson man has been sentenced in connection to an auto theft case.
Attorney General Lynn Fitch (R-Miss.) announced Martez Davis was sentenced to 10 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC), with five years to serve followed by five years of post-release supervision. He was also ordered to pay $49,000 in restitution.
According to Fitch, Davis was found guilty of one count of false pretense and one count of wire fraud. She said Davis knowingly submitted a fraudulent cashier’s check as payment for a vehicle.

The case was investigated and prosecuted by the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office with assistance from the Shelby County (AL) Sheriff’s Office.
