JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A pedestrian was hit and killed on Interstate 55 in Jackson.

The incident occurred on I-55 South between Beasley Road and County Line Road on Monday, May 26.

The victim has not been identified. Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said vehicle parts were found in the area. He said there were no witnesses to the incident.

According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation, the left lane has been blocked. Drivers are urged to caution in the area.
