ATTALA COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – An 84-year-old Attala County man drowned in a lake.

Breezy News reported the incident occurred at Youth Center Lake on June 11. The victim, Kermit Campbell, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officials with the Attala County Sheriff’s Office said Campbell was in his boat alone on the lake when the incident occurred. A witness reported hearing a commotion and noticed Campbell was missing from his boat.

The investigation is ongoing.
